MyChristiana is a community calendar, news and advertising site for the town of Christiana, North West. By using the site — reading it, creating an account, commenting, or submitting an article or advertisement — you agree to these terms.
1. Accounts
You need an account to comment, submit articles, or manage a business listing. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for anything posted from your account. Provide accurate information when you sign up, and keep your profile email address reachable — it's how we contact you about your account.
2. Comments and community content
Comments and resident-submitted articles are the opinions of the people who post them, not MyChristiana. Keep it civil: no harassment, hate speech, defamation, threats, spam, or content that's illegal under South African law. We may hide or remove content, and suspend or close accounts, at our discretion — including in response to reports from other users. Reported comments are reviewed by an admin.
3. Articles from residents
Resident-submitted articles go through a review step before they're published. Submitting an article grants MyChristiana a licence to publish, display and distribute it on the site (and its social channels) as part of normal operation; you keep ownership of what you write. Don't submit anything you don't have the right to share, including photos you don't hold the rights to.
4. Advertising
Business listings and adverts are reviewed before going live. We reserve the right to decline or remove any listing that's misleading, for an illegal product or service, or otherwise inappropriate for a community site.
5. Supporter memberships and donations
Supporter subscriptions and donations are processed by PayFast and/or PayPal — MyChristiana never sees or stores your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel any time from your profile or by contacting us. Donations are voluntary contributions toward running the site and, unless stated otherwise, are not refundable.
6. Accuracy of information
We do our best to keep the calendar, news and loadshedding schedule accurate and current, but this is a community-run site, not an official municipal or utility channel. Always confirm event details, municipal notices and loadshedding stages with the official source before relying on them for anything important.
7. Availability
MyChristiana is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the site will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted, and we're not liable for losses arising from downtime, lost content, or reliance on information published here.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as the site grows. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
